James S. Taylor is a founding partner of Vianovo with more than 20 years of experience in consulting with high-profile business and governmental leaders in Mexico and the United States.

Born in Texas and reared in Mexico, James draws on his bi-cultural background as well as decades of bi-national experience working at the intersection of business and politics.  He helps clients understand business strategies and branding opportunities that are critical to success in the multi-national markets of North and South America.

James has built and expanded several new businesses in Mexico.  He was a founding shareholder of Austin-based Public Strategies, Inc., where he established and led the international division. His early career focused on politics and trade. In his work for US Senator Lloyd Bentsen he managed issues affecting the Texas-Mexico relationship. James advised Mexico's trade negotiating team on building support with key US constituencies to help secure the passage of the NAFTA. He also provided counsel to Mexico's Ministry of Foreign Affairs on bilateral issues, messaging and branding strategies.

He earned his bachelor's degree in international studies from Texas State University and pursued graduate studies at the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs at The University of Texas at Austin.  He also completed the Executive Education Program at Stanford University.

James is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and serves as an Advisory Board member for the Woodrow Wilson Center's Mexico Institute.  He is involved with several Austin non-profit organizations and the Mexican American Legislative Leadership Foundation.
