AUSTIN, Texas (July 15, 2020) – Vianovo, a leading strategy consultancy at the intersection of business, policy and politics, today announced that Reeves Strategy Group will join its ranks, bolstering the firm’s capabilities and presence in Texas and across the U.S. and Mexico.

Reeves Strategy Group founder Eddie Reeves will join Vianovo as partner. He will enhance the firm’s national profile and expand its Dallas-Fort Worth footprint, helping corporations, mid-sized growth companies, trade associations, and non-profits execute internal and external communications, social media, public affairs and crisis communications campaigns.

“As we began kicking around the idea of teaming up with our old friend Eddie Reeves, it rapidly became apparent that it was a perfect cultural fit and the right step for both of us,” Vianovo Managing Partner Blaine Bull said. “Eddie’s experience in integrated communications, public affairs and crisis communications is unparalleled. We are delighted to welcome him to the Vianovo family.”

The deal comes five months after Matt Hirsch, former deputy chief of staff and communications director for Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, joined Vianovo as partner in the firm’s Austin office. Vianovo also has offices in Washington, D.C. and Mexico City.

“Today is a proud day for me and this communications practice,” Reeves said. “I’m thrilled to reunite with my dear friend Blaine Bull and join Vianovo at a pivotal time in the firm’s history. I believe the combined expertise of this stellar team of senior level leaders will help Vianovo take on even more high-stakes work for leading companies and causes.”

Before starting his own company, Reeves co-led the media relations practice of Austin-based Public Strategies Inc. and served as corporate vice president of marketing and communications for a FORTUNE 1000 global technology services concern.

Earlier in his career, Reeves served as press secretary for former U.S. Rep. J.J. ”Jake” Pickle, D-Austin, and former Houston Mayor Kathy Whitmire, and was an award-winning columnist for the Austin American-Statesman.

“I have known both Eddie Reeves and most of the Vianovo partners for decades, and I'm not sure which party is getting the bigger win in this team-up. Well, actually, I do: It's their clients,” said former U.S. Trade Representative and Dallas Mayor Ron Kirk. “They all set a high bar not only for providing excellent advice and counsel to their clients, but in their commitment to the community – something that is as important now as it ever has been.”

Reeves currently sits on the board of the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport and chaired the Dallas Convention and Visitors Bureau. He also served on the boards of the Parkland Health and Hospital System, the AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic and the World Affairs Council of Dallas-Fort Worth.
