An entrepreneur and international business strategist with deep roots in Texas and formative experience in Mexico, James provides a uniquely bi-cultural perspective and deep cross-border experience shaped by decades of advising governments, global businesses and entrepreneurs navigating the complexities and opportunities of the U.S.-Mexico corridor.

James is a trusted advisor to major Mexican conglomerates pursuing U.S. investments and to American firms expanding into Mexico, offering insights into political and regulatory risks, market entry, and cross-market strategy.

As an entrepreneur, James has launched and grown several businesses in the U.S. and Mexico, specializing in the marketing of advanced public safety technologies, and more recently launching a mezcal brand, Mexico’s oldest agave spirit.

James earned his B.A. in International Studies from Texas State University, pursued graduate work at The University of Texas at Austin and completed Stanford University’s Executive Education Program. He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and serves on the boards of Austin PBS and The Wittliff Collections.
