Mike Shannon is a seasoned political and business strategist who counsels executive teams on reputation, public opinion, and special situations. He co-leads Vianovo’s crisis & investigations practice and guides the firm’s analytics & AI work.
Before joining Vianovo, Mike worked at the Boston Consulting Group. He is a veteran of two winning U.S. presidential campaigns, during which he oversaw $250 million in ad buys using groundbreaking microtargeting strategies. Mike also served on the White House Staff, where he directed polling and scenario planning. He began his career in corporate finance.
One of the nation’s top authorities on the “politics of brands," Mike has written for the Washington Post, L.A. Times, National Journal, and Fortune and was named a "Who's Who in Big Political Data" by the Cook Political Report. His international campaign work includes advising candidates in Mexico, the Bahamas, and Madagascar.
Mike holds an MBA from Northwestern’s Kellogg School and graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Vanderbilt University. He is a cheerleader and advisor for Wait Until 8th and has coached eleven seasons of youth basketball.
